) Records the resident’s food/fluid intake and reports changes in the resident’s eating habits Keeps residents’ water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water (on each shift), and within easy reach of the resident Serves between meal and bedtime snacks Performs after meal care (i.

, as instructed Cleans, disinfects, and returns all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use Reports any communicable or infectious disease to the DON and/or Infection Control Coordinator Follows established isolation precautions and procedures Follows established procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment Follows established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids Washes hands before entering and after leaving an isolation room/area Demonstrates proper hand-washing techniques and disposes of waste properly Ensures that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures Role Responsibilities – Care Plan: Reviews care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident’s daily care routine have been made on the care plan Informs the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any changes in the resident’s condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident’s care plan Ensures that your notes reflect that the care plan is being followed Role Responsibilities – Resident Care/Dignity: Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information Ensures that you treat all residents fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect Ensures that all nursing care is provided in privacy Ensures understanding of and compliance with all rules regarding residents’ rights Knocks on resident’s rooms before entering Reports all grievances and complaints made by residents to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Reports all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property Honors the resident’s refusal of treatment request.
