*Position: Fleet Maintenance Manager* *Job Overview:* The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the company's truck fleet.
The primary focus is on cost savings, improving Compliance, Safety, and Accountability (CSA) scores, ensuring proper asset life-cycling, and minimizing downtime.
*Duties and Responsibilities:* * *Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:* * Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for the entire fleet.
* Coordinate with drivers and dispatch to ensure minimal disruption to operations during scheduled maintenance.
* *Cost Management:* * Monitor and control maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
* Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing for parts and services.
* Conduct thorough Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses for each vehicle in the fleet, taking into account acquisition costs, maintenance expenses, fuel efficiency, and depreciation.
* Utilize data and historical records to identify trends and patterns in maintenance costs and overall asset performance.
* *CSA Score Improvement:* * Stay updated on FMCSA regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
* Implement strategies to improve CSA scores related to vehicle maintenance and inspection.
* *Asset Life-Cycling:* * Develop and execute a strategic plan for the life-cycling of company assets.
* Conduct regular assessments of the fleet's condition and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.
* Utilize data and historical records to identify trends and patterns in maintenance costs and overall asset performance.
* *Downtime Minimization:* * Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
* Analyze breakdown trends and develop solutions to address recurring issues.
* *Collaboration with Finance Department:* * Work closely with the finance department to align asset offloading strategies with budgetary goals and financial planning.
* Provide financial forecasts based on the anticipated costs and benefits of asset replacement.
