Job Summary and Qualifications Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for leading the Environmental Services department on a daily basis providing industry-leading expertise while driving results.
The EVS director will serve as the subject matter expert for cleaning and disinfecting the environment and provide guidance and insight into practices within the facility.
This leader will be responsible for instilling a culture of compassionate care within the department as well as being a role model within the facility.
What you will do in this role includes: Daily management of EVS practices to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality outcomes.
Provide feedback to staff in a transparent and consistent manner.
Establish and maintain a consistent performance improvement program for EVS staff.
Manage all internal and external regulatory compliance information as it relates to EVS.
Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.
Instill accountability for providing consistent positive patient interactions that differentiates the organization as a healthcare leader.
Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction.
Develop and implement strategies to elevate the patient experience.
Model and reinforce the Support Services Service Standards.
Participate in the annual budget process including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, supply, and equipment needs.
Monitor department budget performance, identify trends and evaluate variances in relation to established budget.
Develop and implement actions to address performance gaps.
Manage operating expenses including the utilization of supplies and equipment.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement actions to achieve savings.
Ensure purchasing compliance goals are being met.
Actively pursue new methods and technology to maintain industry-leading practices for EVS What qualifications you will need: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Master's Degree Preferred 3+ years of experience in healthcare Required 5+ years of experience in leadership Preferred.
Certified Health Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) Preferred.
