The RN Nurse Navigator demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and coordination to provide nursing care and guidance to the cancer patient from screening to survivorship.
Coordinates nursing care of patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional practice in the clinical setting.
Prioritizes the patient as number one and provides quality care.
Reports to Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Minimum of Associate degree in nursing.
Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
Demonstrated initiative, ability to work with others, and good professional judgment.
Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.
Minimum 2 years experience working in a clinical aspect in the healthcare setting.
Must have current oncology nurse certification or obtain certification within 6 months.
