Hiring Agency Cabinet for Health & Family Services | Office of Inspector General Location 901 S.
Main Street, Suite B Hopkinsville, KY 42240 USA The agency may authorize the selected candidate to telecommute.

Description The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) is one of the largest agencies in Kentucky state government, with over 6,500 full- and part-time employees located across the Commonwealth focused on improving the lives and health of Kentuckians.
The Division of Regulated Child Care (DRCC) is one of six divisions within the CHFS Office of Inspector General.
DRCC is responsible for licensing and certification of child-care providers, as well as residential child caring facilities and child placing agencies.
DRCC also investigates complaints against these facilities, ensuring that proper regulatory action is in place.
This Division plays an intricate part in the health, safety, and welfare of Kentucky's children.
The Human Services Surveyor position conducts annual on-site visits to licensed childcare providers to assure regulatory compliance.
Prepares timely reports of on-site visits according to agency guidelines and prepares follow-up letters to providers and other agencies based on findings.
This position also makes recommendations, with justification for provider status for initial licensure, re-licensing, termination, status change and other provider issues as necessary.
This position reports to an office in Hopkinsville (Christian Co) KY and works in the following counties: Allen, Ballard, Breckinridge, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Edmonson, Fulton, Graves, Grayson, Hancock, Hardin, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Larue, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, McCracken, McLean, Marshall, Meade, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Simpson, Todd, Trigg, Union, Warren, and Webster.
We offer flexible scheduling and telecommuting to those who have successfully passed the probationary period.
Responsiblities and duties: Conduct unannounced inspections for licensed, certified, and registered providers for compliance with state and federal regulations.
Perform a thorough review of children and staff files.
Review of policies and procedures.
Inspect facility buildings and their contents.
Requires regional travel with some over-nights.
Interview staff and collaterals as part of the investigative process.
Write reports with proper grammatical usage.
Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities Ability to interpret and apply Kentucky Statutes and Regulations.
Computer skills to include, but not limited to- Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, and internet-based software.
Ability to work under pressure with time restraints.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
Organization and time management skills.
Experience with large caseloads.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in emergency medical services, a health/human services program or two years of experience in inspection/investigative work or a combination of both or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional professional training in health services, human services, social work, or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in the above fields, or a related field, will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.
): NONE Working Conditions Work is typically performed in an office setting.
Investigates complaints and provides consultation to health and social service providers.
Some travel is typically required.
Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.
