Behavioral Health Unit Nurse Practitioner Inpatient Psychiatric Service-PRN

Employee will be under the programmatic supervision of the Director of Medical Services.
APRN will maintain a collaborating physician and supervisory agreement for the purpose of prescribing medication as required by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
* Conduct psychiatric evaluations.
* Provide medications/prescription management; and complete reports and related documentation to health care facilities.
* Maintain a KASPER account with a delegate.
* Perform psychiatric review and sign all treatment plans as required by regulatory and funding agencies.
* Psychiatric consultations * Admission psychiatric histories within regulatory time frames.
* Diagnosis * Administer injectable medications as indicated.
* Prepare and update treatment plans, goals, and objectives.
* Participate in discharge planning and referrals.
* Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team to include outpatient psychiatric services at the Pennyroyal Center * Lead and/or participate in weekly treatment team meeting.
* Maintains current knowledge of all applicable Federal, State, hospital regulations and provides all services in compliance with the latter regulations.
Required Skills *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* * Master's degree or higher in nursing with a university identified major in psychiatric and mental health nursing with ANCC board certification in psychiatric mental health nursing.
* Must maintain an active RN license in Kentucky and hold APRN credentials.
* Experience with a Geriatric Psychiatric clientele a plus.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, and provide proof of automobile insurance.
* Must pass a required Criminal Record Check and a Sexual Offender Registry check.
* BLS Certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.
* ACLS Certification must be current.
