Produce Manager

Basic Function: Provides excellent customer service by filling the shelf with incoming stock and back stock, supervising the Produce department, keeping the Produce department clean, and responding to customers questions and needs in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.

Orders produce.
Takes responsibility for produce inventory.
Meets sales forecast.
Provides excellent customer service.
Sets up the produce cases.
Keeps produce case clean and neat.
Keeps track of ordering records.
Prepares produce for display.
Looks for and remove defective produce.
Returns defective produce for credit.
Makes bags of ice and fill the ice machine.
Any other responsibilities assigned by manager.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility: All employees that work in the Produce Department.
Work Environment: Work will take place in areas that are cooler than room temperature.
Standing for long periods of time and moving objects 0 50 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required At Entry: Knowledge of different types of Produce.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Basic knife skills.
Ability to use weight measuring scale.
Ability to use the wrapping machine.
Ability to work flexible schedule.
Knowledge of how to make produce baskets.
Produce ordering skills.
Any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required For Full-Performance: Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma/ GED equivalent Experience: One year experience in retail or grocery business in managerial position.
